CAN YOU GET LASH EXTENSIONS WHILE PREGNANT?

CAN YOU GET LASH EXTENSIONS WHILE PREGNANT?

Many customers ask themselves this question all the time as there is a rumor that eyelash extensions should not be used during pregnancy.

However, neither the artificial eyelashes themselves nor the glue is harmful to the fetus. That's why eyelash extensions are possible while pregnant!

However,  there are just a few things to keep in mind:

 1. Hormone levels are greatly altered during pregnancy. This can completely mess up the speed of eyelash renewal!  The customer should get explained that the durability and wearing time of the lash extensions during pregnancy can differ from the normal case (much shorter in the first trimester and longer than usual from the second).

 2. It is difficult for a pregnant woman to lie down for a long time during treatment. As the pregnancy progresses, lying on your back becomes more difficult. It may be necessary to take small breaks and we suggest bringing in your own body pillow to make things more comfortable for you.

 3. Pregnant women have an increased sensitivity to odors and may be uncomfortable with the glue fumes. In this case, the glue vapor neutralizer will help you, which also removes foreign smells as well as a bonder treatment at the end which we use after all Secret Lash sets.

 4. A pregnant woman should also no longer lie for too long on her back during an advanced stage of pregnancy. This can lead to complications and jeopardize the baby's care. Therefore, it is important for the client to have an option to lay on her side.

So why do some people say that eyelash extensions and eyelash lamination (lifts) are not recommended during pregnancy?

There is a very simple explanation for this!  - There is always a risk of an allergic reaction. In non-pregnant women, the resulting reaction can be eliminated with simple medication. In pregnant women, such prescriptions are harmful to the fetus.

Other than that, it is perfectly safe to wear lash extensions during pregnancy and we even recommend getting them a week before your due date to make sure you’re looking your best before the big day as you’ll be too busy and tired to put on makeup and with all the surprise visits you’ll be getting to see the new bundle of joy, you’ll thank us later!

Of course, everybody is different so ask your doctor if it is safe for you during your pregnancy.

Book your lash session now so you can reserve your desired day and time early as we rarely have last-minute appointments available!
